Kids Are So Rude

Seriously, I love my elementary school children but from 11 up, I can't take it. If one more child sucks their teeth, rolls their eyes, or argues with me I'm going to scream. It may be because this 2 hour job is after 3 hours with my other kids who know + listen (mostly) to me. But these kids drive me up a wall. They don't listen to a word I say + just take it upon themselves to do what they want, noooo thank you. I am not going to be argued with by an 11 year old because I tell him he can't play tackle football. Ughhhh. They also act soooo tough + then wanna throw a temper tantrum when you take priveleges away, this is the future generation + I'm scared.

I'll have a better update soon, my kids have given me some interesting quotes since my last post :)

Black Eye

Yepp, this morning I woke up with a black eye. I am the most clumsy person on the face of the planet and last night I fell, hard ... Twice. Which resulted in a black eye + a lump on my head. I'm really not sure how these things happen to me, but they always seem to.

Whatever, I'll just have to work on the balance thing. Its a lazy sunday, tomorrow its back to reality !

Hope your weekend was fabulous !

Just One of Those Days ...

Now I know I am not the only one who wakes up on a rainy day + just wants to roll over + go back to sleep, + that's exactly how today started. Ugh. So I woke up, late. Not feeling so well, and had to hurry to get ready to sit in my 5 hour long history class. Woo hoo. Don't get me wrong, history is my favorite subject, but this man's voice is just so, blahhhh. I couldn't help almost dozing off ! Then we got our 30 minute lunch break, so I try to go put gas in my car because my low gas light is on, oh silly me ... I overwithdrew my bank account for about the 50th time :/. And that's the kinda morning I had.

The second half of class wasn't so bad, I got some interesting quotes out of it actually, here's some ...

From the philosopher Epicurus:

A soul is warm breath - atoms that after death dissolve with our body.

Do not fear death - death is but eternal sleep + the dead feel no pain or torment.

Forget about fear of pain. Its usually much worse than the pain itself.

Learn to recognize that there is nothing better than cold water when you are thirsty. So remember that thirst.

I love love love all of them. Especially the fear of pain quote, because people really do live in fear of getting hurt, emotionally or physically. And that fear has a bit of control over all our lives. Interesting.

And we also discussed how we are all liars. Haha, it was a lecture on virtue and morality. And my professor told us that college age boys lie 3 times within the first 8 minutes of meeting you, thaaat makes a lot of sense.

That's enough about school, we got out an hour early, which gave me an hour to waste before work. Naturally I went home to take a half hour nap :) it just mademe in a worse mood, then it was off to the kiddies. And boy are they stir crazy from this yucky day.

The first conversation of today was between Mr. B and a little girl, she was explaining how this stray cat was pregnant, "but nothing happened to her" Mr. B says someeeething happened to her. + she was very upset by that, she then said the cat got sick + that's how it got pregnant. Kids logic amazes me.

Thennnnn, I had to punish some for cursing. The 6 year old cried. They act so tough til they think you're gonna tell on them. Silly kids :) but now I get to go see my bestfriend + my goddaughter, I'm super excited ! That's all for today !

First One !

Hola !

So, my co-worker decided to blog + I've been reading her posts religiously + decided I just had to have my own.

I may not be the most interesting blogger, but we'll see what I can come up with. I work for a child care program + these kids provide me with some interesting stories that I'd like to share. For example, today the kids had a debate about why my co-worker was in a suit. It went a little like this:

"Mr., Why are you wearing a tuxedo?" - number 1
"He must've gone to church" - number 2
*major attitude* "Church is onlyyy on Sunday!" - number 3

I just can't help but to laugh, and they could not get over his "tuxedo" and were very convinced there was no other reason to be dressed up other then going to church. And the way Mr talks to these kids is hilariousss, they don't all quite understand sarcasm ... So they get quite confused by him.
Another fun thing about these elementary students, they just say whatever they feel. There is no filter for them.

"Miss, how old are you?" - 8 year old
"Twenty - one" -
"Okay, What're you doing tonight?!"

I have no clue how old they think they are, but they sure don't think they're in elementary school. I may not be old, but ohhh to be their age again!

sooo I'll keep you posted with my kids say the darnest things stories. Hope you enjoy :)
